PCS not only has the talents of its two founding partners available but it also can pull from the talent and resources of the partners they collaborate with.  These include professionals from the Mechanical, Electrical and Structural fields.  These sources can prove to be invaluable for getting keen insight into current pricing and innovations. 

As a compliment to the education and experience PCS posseses they also use and maintain numerous software packages that widely used within the industry, including On-Center, Quick Bid, ProEst among others, along with the standard Microsoft Office Packages.

Our Philosophy

We feel that the construction industry is continually evolving.  With a trend of front end Conceptual Estimating playing a ever increasing role in the  influence of the overall building design and development process.

While nothing can replace the skills required for accurate takeoffs and organizing hard bid work we see more advanced software, especially design software which integrates the estimating process, as the focus, especially large scale commercial and industrial projects.  We at PCS are determined to stay abreast of these changes and current in our skills and ability to provide these benefits on to our customers.

Who We Are

As Principles Max Thomas and Steve Bakley have a combined 50 years in the Construction Insustry.

Max Thomas   Grew up in the Industry starting with his Great Grandfather. Max spent most of his career with the Beck group where he spent time as a Project Manager as well as Chief Estimator.  Most recently he was with Fairfield Development as the head of the Estimating Dept.

Steve Bakley  likewise has had a long career in the construction industry.  From framing homes during the summers while attending college to pursuing a B.B.A in Business and an Masters degree in Architecture from Iowa State University, he has made a career in estimating. 

While Steve has spent the majority of his time estimating he has also spent time in the roles of Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer and Purchasing Manager.  Most recently Steve was a Senior Estimator at Fairfield Development where he and Max have worked side by side on projects for years.
